Approved Restrictive Practices Provider
Melbourne Care Services is an Approved Restrictive Practices Provider authorised by Senior Practitioners Victoria, with approved access to the Restrictive Intervention Data System (RIDS).
Restrictive practices are used only when necessary, appropriately authorised, closely monitored, and reviewed with the aim of reduction and elimination over time.
Authorised Program Officer (APO) – On Site
We have an Authorised Program Officer (APO) approved by Senior Practitioners Victoria, operating with on-site provider authority.
This ensures immediate oversight of regulated practices, strong governance, accountability, and compliance with Victorian and NDIS legislative requirements.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
We implement evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support Plans that are person-centred and focused on improving quality of life.
Our PBS approach aims to understand the causes of behaviours of concern, build positive coping strategies, reduce restrictive practices, and support long-term independence and wellbeing.
Supporting Complex & High Needs
We have experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours, intellectual disability, neurodiversity, trauma-related presentations, and high daily living support needs.
Supports are tailored to individual needs and delivered with care, respect, and professionalism.
Culturally Responsive & Ethical Practice
Our specialist supports are delivered with a strong commitment to ethical, culturally responsive practice.
We have experience supporting participants from diverse backgrounds, including the Chinese community, Persian/Farsi-speaking community, and Sri Lankan community, and we work closely with families and support networks.

Our specialist services align with NDIS Practice Standards, Victorian legislative requirements, and aged care and TAC expectations where applicable.
