Relieving Stress and Burnout

Sitting in the Uber on my way to Melbourne Care Services for work, I'm thinking about what I should write about today. I know—stress and burnout! I'll talk about them and what I sometimes do to relieve stress. The most common definition of stress is feeling worried and tense. When I feel tense, I tense my muscles and then release them; it helps a lot. I've heard that doing a full body scan—where you close your eyes and focus from head to toe, feeling your muscles become less tight as you go—is also helpful. Just writing about it makes me feel very relaxed. Exercise and connecting with friends can relieve stress as well. Another thing I do is aromatherapy, like using lavender essential oil on my temples. Now, about burnout, which is feeling depleted or exhausted. I find that filling your cup by being healthy, getting enough sleep, prioritizing, and having structure helps. Watching a good movie or series can also fill your cup. Thanks for reading!​
