Looking out the window eases my boredom, and I wonder what to write about. I'll write about boredom and what I do to get through it. Some say boredom is laziness, but I think it's a lack of direction, a lack of structure. For me, anyway, I know I'm bored when I can't sit still and relax and focus properly. Nothing is satisfying or relaxing. So what do I do? I do something soothing, like using essential oils, which is an aromatherapy technique that especially helps at night. Other ways to make your surroundings soothing include soft, differently colored lights, real plants, and music, or a good movie or series to help the mind calm down. I'm going to talk about other ways, like connecting with people. Groups like support groups or sports groups are a great way to fill in time. But in the long run, it never goes away permanently. So I write goals, call friends, and play the tape through. Working has helped that so much, thanks to Melbourne Care Services. It helps me have good structure and not get bored.
