Living with a psychosocial disability

Back from the country, man, it was beautiful up there. Now back in Melbourne, I'm writing from home today. I find I get my best ideas for my blogs at home, but it's a win-lose situation because there are so many distractions from home as well. Today, I will be writing about my lived experience with a psychosocial disability.

Sometimes it can be quite some work, and I have to use things from my toolbox, which is a set of strategies that help me function when I feel depressed or manic. Other times, it's not even noticeable. There are good times, as I have been medicated for some years now, and I've got it down pat. But when I'm hungry, dehydrated, tired, and not following my regular structure, I feel it more.

I see a doctor once a fortnight and a psychiatrist and psychologist at other times, which all help a lot. I also go to a support group for people with psychosocial disabilities. It helps being around others who experience the same things I do.

I hope you like reading this. Thanks!
