A trip to Metartworld this holidays

Hello readers,

I’m working from home today instead of my usual locations in Wantirna and Knox, and I wanted to take a moment to share something exciting to do with the kids these holidays.

One idea that comes to mind is visiting Metartworld, located at 155 Boundary Street, Port Melbourne VIC 3207. It’s only a 16 minute drive from the Melbourne CBD, or a 36-minute trip on public transport, and just an 8 to 11 minute walk from the tram depending on which one you take. The venue also provides wheelchair access, stroller access, and welcomes assistance dogs, making it suitable for all visitors.

You’re probably wondering what it has to offer. Inside its 2,500 square meters of interactive art space, there are several sections to explore. On the ground floor you’ll find the world’s largest scrap metal art center, called the Metal Art Exhibition. It features everything from dinosaurs and animals to superhero sculptures, all hand crafted from recycled metal parts ranging from pressure gauges to used car engines. You’re welcome to take as many photos as you like, and many of the pieces are interactive.

On the second floor is the Fantasy Starry Sky Exhibition, which uses advanced lighting and shadow technology to create an immersive experience. It includes a candy maze, an enchanted forest, a jellyfish maze, and much more. There is also a 9D flying cinema that takes you into a different world where reality meets imagination, complete with motion seats and special effects such as rain, wind, and scents. This attraction is free with your admission ticket.

Metartworld also has a VR theme park that offers a full virtual reality experience. There are options to stand, move around, or stay seated, and they have more than 100 VR games available. For prices, be sure to check their website and book a head because it might get busy.

I hope you’re able to visit these holidays and enjoy the fun of this interactive art space.

Thanks for reading!
