Thanks for stopping by!

Today, I'm writing from the comfort of my home rather than my usual spot in Nunawading, and I would like to write about What Makes a Good NDIS support plan.

A good NDIS support plan should be centred around the participant as an individual. Rather than focusing only on a person’s disability or support needs, it should consider their goals, strengths, preferences, daily routines and what they want to achieve in their life.

A well-developed plan should clearly identify where support may be needed and connect those supports to meaningful outcomes, such as becoming more independent at home, improving communication, developing daily living skills, participating in the community, studying or working.

Supports should be practical and appropriate for the participant’s circumstances, as everyone has different needs and priorities. Allied health professionals can help assess functional needs and recommend suitable strategies, equipment or supports.

Collaboration between the participant, family or carers, support workers and healthcare professionals can also help ensure everyone is working towards the same goals. As circumstances and needs change over time, supports may need review and adjustment.

Ultimately, an effective NDIS support plan should be personalised, goal-focused and designed to promote choice, participation, confidence and greater independence.

Thanks for reading my blog.
