Hello readers,

I’m writing from home today instead of my usual spot in Nunawading, and as it is Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to talk about breaking the stigma around mental health and disability.

Breaking stigma means challenging negative beliefs, assumptions, and misunderstandings that can make people feel judged or excluded. It is about encouraging open and honest conversations where people feel safe to share what they are going through without fear of being labelled or misunderstood. It also means understanding that mental health challenges and disability are a normal part of human experience, not something to be ashamed of.

When we take the time to listen, show respect, and treat others with kindness and dignity, we help create a more supportive and inclusive community where everyone feels accepted, valued, and understood. This is why it is so important to have open conversations about mental health and to keep breaking the stigma through honest and meaningful discussions.

Thank you for reading my blog.
