Tips on simple way to support your mental health

Hello readers,


I’m writing from home today instead of my usual spot in Nunawading, and as it’s Mental Health Awareness Month and I want to share some simple ways to support your mental health every day.


Keeping a simple daily routine can help you feel more stable, organized, and in control, even on difficult days. Moving your body through gentle activities like walking or stretching can boost your mood and reduce stress by helping your brain release feel-good chemicals such as endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. 


Staying connected with others, whether it’s talking to a friend, family member, or support worker, can reduce feelings of isolation and help you feel supported. Eating regular, balanced meals and drinking enough water can improve your energy, focus, and mood throughout the day. 


Taking short breaks for yourself, even just a few minutes, can help you relax, reset your thoughts, and manage stress more effectively. Just taking small steps at a time, especially on tough days, can make a big difference. 


Even something as simple as getting up and doing one small thing is better than doing nothing, and it can help you start to feel a little better.
