I’m working from the library today instead of my usual spots in Wantirna and Knox, and I wanted to take a moment to share something important. As many of you know, I work for an NDIS service provider and I also have lived experience applying for the NDIS myself. So today, I thought I’d write about what the process looked like for me.
The first thing I did was call the NDIS on 1800 800 110. They connected me with a lovely lady at a community center. We met in person, and she helped me fill out a form or survey it took a little while, but she was very kind and supportive throughout.
After that, I waited for a response from the National Disability Insurance Agency. I’m still waiting, but these things take time, and I’m staying patient.
This is just my own experience from what I remember, but I hope it helps someone out there who might be starting their own NDIS journey.
