Let bring awareness to Mental Health Month

Hello Readers,

I'm writing from work today near the Wantirna Knox area, and it's Mental Health Month throughout October. This year’s theme is "Taking Steps on Your Wellbeing Journey."

Today, I want to talk about how you can support and bring awareness to Mental Health Month. One simple way is by wearing a green ribbon to show your support and start conversations. 

You can also help by educating others share what you know about mental health, whether that’s through social media or everyday conversations.

It’s also helpful to promote the facts about mental health and challenge common myths, which can go a long way in reducing stigma. If you're able, consider attending a local or virtual mental health awareness workshop, support group, or walk. These events can be both informative and empowering.

Something fun and meaningful you can do is volunteer your time or skills to support mental health initiatives. And if you're in a workplace setting, you can encourage leadership to offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) or provide access to mental health professionals and resources.
