Hello readers,

I’m writing from home today rather than my usual spot in Nunawading. Today, I’d like to talk about Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Awareness Day, which is observed on March 25.

Functional neurological disorder is a condition that affects how the brain sends and receives signals. This can lead to real, involuntary symptoms such as limb weakness, tremors, or seizures.

This year’s theme is “Open the Door, Start the Conversation, Hear the Voice of Lived Experience.” The focus is on bridging the gap between neurology and psychiatry, educating healthcare professionals, and supporting people living with FND.

If you’d like to get involved, you can wear something blue or orange, share stories or information on social media using the hashtag #FNDAware, or support organizations like FND Hope International. You can also visit their website for helpful resources and ways to participate.

Thanks for reading my blog!
