Hello readers,
I’m writing from home today instead of my usual spot in Nunawading, and I wanted to share something important. It is April Falls Month, a nationwide Australian initiative dedicated to reducing the risk of falls, especially for older adults.
Taking place each April, the campaign highlights the importance of awareness, promotes practical prevention tips, and brings together communities and healthcare professionals to help minimize fall related injuries. It delivers an important message with urgency: small actions can make a big difference in keeping people safe, active, and independent.
Here are some simple tips to help prevent falls: keep your home clutter-free and well lit, use support aids where needed, stay active with exercises like Tai Chi, check your vision and medications regularly, wear safe and supportive footwear, and take your time when moving don’t rush and take care and keep safe.
Thanks for reading my blog.
