Hello readers,

I'm working from home today, not Wantirna Knox. I'm going to be talking about my battle with mental health today, and from my lived experience, this is my perspective. Here is a day in my life

I wake in the morning and take my medication, which is a must in my life their mood stabilizers for my bipolar disorder.

Then, I go out into my garden to have coffee or mocha and check in with myself, giving myself time to feel how I’m feeling. Some days, I might be depressed, and the day ahead feels overwhelming. Other days, I might feel really happy. Then, I jump in the shower, which makes me feel uplifted and helps if I’m feeling depressed.

Some days, I don’t know how I’m feeling, which is okay for me. I just carry on with my routine. Structure helps me, it makes my day run smoother. Then, I have a smoothie, which is packed with healthy ingredients I love it!

After finishing getting ready, I head to work. My workplace is very understanding of my mental health and supports me. It is a diverse, inclusive, and non-judgmental place, which makes it easier for me. I work for four hours, then head home. After that, I relax, watch a movie, or spend time with family. I have dinner and then head to bed.

After taking my medication, I go to sleep quite early. I find this gives me time for self-reflection on my day.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog. If anything comes up and you need support, you can call Lifeline at 13 11 14.
