Hello readers,
I’m working from home today instead of my usual locations in Wantirna and Knox, and I wanted to take a moment to share something important. It is World Braille Day, celebrated in honour of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille.
It is celebrated on the 4th of January each year. It also celebrates how important Braille is as a tactile reading and writing system for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, and how important it is for each of us to be able to communicate in our own way.
You can support this day by starting to learn Braille, supporting Braille organizations, and spreading awareness through social media by sharing information about World Braille Day.
You could also advocate for accessibility in your community by encouraging Braille signage, accessible websites, and Braille materials for those who need them. Lastly, you can donate Braille materials if you have any you’re not using, as they can help someone else.
Thanks for reading my blog.
