International Guide Dog Day

Hello readers,

I’m writing from home today and wanted to share that it’s International Guide Dog Day, which is observed every year on the last Wednesday of April this year it falls on April 29th. 

It’s a special day to celebrate the incredible work that guide dogs do and to raise awareness about how they support people who are blind or have low vision.

There are several ways you can get involved. 

You can learn more about how guide dogs are trained and the important work that goes into preparing them by visiting the Guide Dogs Australia website. Supporting guide dog organisations through donations or volunteering is another meaningful way to make a difference. 

You can also share information on social media to help raise awareness about guide dogs and the people they assist.

One important thing to remember is to always be mindful in public and never distract a working guide dog while they are on duty they are performing an essential job for their handler your support would be most grateful.
