Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s blog is coming to you from the comfort of my home instead of my usual spot in Nunawading, and it's that time of year again. This July is Disability Pride Month, a vibrant celebration of identity, diversity and community!

First celebrated in 1990 following the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on 26 July 1990 in the United States, Disability Pride Month has grown into a global movement.

Across Australia, people come together to celebrate the achievements, talents and contributions of people with disability, while championing inclusion, accessibility and equal opportunities for all.

There is flag for disability pride month Each color on the Disability Pride Flag reflects the diversity of the disability community, green represents invisible and undiagnosed disabilities, blue highlights mental health and psychosocial disabilities, white symbolizes sensory disabilities, yellow celebrates neurodiversity and developmental disabilities, and red represents physical disabilities.

This July, join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month. Whether your contribution is big or small, every act of awareness, support and inclusion helps create positive change. Together, we can celebrate diversity, challenge barriers and build communities where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered.

Every action makes a difference.

Keep an eye out for my next blog, where I'll be sharing simple and meaningful ways you can help raise awareness for Disability Pride Month and make a positive impact in your community.

Thanks so much for reading my blog. I hope it has inspired you to learn more, celebrate disability pride, and be part of creating a more inclusive world.

Happy Disability Pride Month!
