NDIS Plan Reviews: What They Are and How to Get Ready

Hello readers

Today I’m working from the library instead of my usual spots around Wantirna and Knox, and it gave me a quiet moment to reflect on something many people find confusing or even a little stressful NDIS plan reviews.

An NDIS plan review is really about checking in. It’s a chance to pause and ask whether your current supports still fit your life. Our needs change over time, and a plan that once worked well might no longer reflect what your days actually look like. A review gives you the opportunity to ask for changes so your supports continue to meet you where you’re at.

With the introduction of I-CAN, the NDIS is placing more focus on understanding a person’s everyday support needs. This means talking honestly about how you manage day to day on your good days and on your harder ones too. While reports from therapists and doctors are still important, your lived experience is becoming an even stronger part of the planning conversation.

Preparing for a review doesn’t need to be overwhelming. Taking some time to think about what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d like to work towards can really help. Being open about any gaps, risks, or challenges helps paint a clearer picture of your life and the support you need.

At its heart, a plan review is about making sure you feel safe, supported, and able to live your best life in a way that feels right for you.

I hope this helps you, and maybe you can share it with someone who wants to understand their NDIS plan review.

Thanks for reading!
