Hello readers!

I’m writing from home today, rather than my usual spot in Nunawading, to share an important update with you all.

As we move through the month, it is essential to remember that June 27th is National PTSD Awareness Day.

This date is specifically dedicated to improving public knowledge regarding post-traumatic stress and creating a safe space that encourages those affected by trauma to seek the support they deserve. Because PTSD can affect anyone from veterans to survivors of accidents or personal loss, it is vital that we work together to dismantle the stigma that often prevents people from reaching out for help.

You can participate in this day of advocacy by taking the time to learn about common symptoms, such as intrusive memories, emotional withdrawal, or heightened anxiety. Understanding these signs allows you to check in more effectively on friends, family members, or colleagues who might be struggling.

To help spread the word, consider sharing educational resources or inspiring recovery stories on social media using the hashtag #PTSDAwarenessDay. Sharing even one post or starting a compassionate conversation can make a massive difference in showing someone they aren't alone on their journey toward healing. Organizations like Phoenix Australia or Mind Australia offer excellent resources to help you learn more and support those in need.

Thank reading my blog.
