Myths and misconception about people with disabilities

Hello readers

I’m writing from the library today not Wantirna Knox area and it is disability pride month to bring awareness I’m going to be writing about some myths and misconceptions. 

Seems these can lead to stigma exclusion and missed opportunities for understanding. Some of the myths are that people who use wheelchairs are unable to move but some people just use it for mobility support a wheelchair is a tool for independence, not confinement. It enables mobility and freedom.

Another one is people with hearing disabilities can all read lips this is untrue most use sign language instead or other way of communicating. 

Another is that people with a disability are dependent on someone always this is untrue in most cases people with disability live for filling life’s raise family’s work and are very productive.
